The Integrated Council for Socio Economics Progress conferred The Mother Teresa Excellence Award on Acharya Sri Rakum in appreciation of his services to the society. Shri Rajasekharan M V, Former Union Minister of Planning, presented the award to Shri Rakum at the award ceremony held at Hotel Citrine, Sheshadripuram on July 11, 2009. Leading Newspapers Eenadu(Telugu), Sanjevani(Kannada) and DNA(English) have run articles about Shri Rakum and the Rakum Schools following this award ceremony.
